Sony Bloggie MHS-CM5 – Sony’s next try, improved flip-type HD camcorder

Camcorders — February 11, 2010 at 1:56 am
Sony has not performed well in growing low budget pocket camcorder until now. Flip Video has a good hold in market with its candy bar design vertical camcorders and its price ranges from $150 to $250. Sony’s NSC-GC1 Net-sharing Webbie camcorder was a big flop. Now, Sony is back with new pocket camcorder Sony Bloggie MHS-CM5, which has pistol-grip design like cameras from Aiptek and Sanyo. The Bloggie has same features like its predecessor Webbie, which include lithium ion battery, 2.5-inch flip LCD, 5x optical zoom and 1080p video capture. The advantages of this Bloggie are mini-HDMI connector for HD video output and onboard USB connector. You can simply plug this USB connector in computer’s USB port without a cable. The Bloggie can be charged through USB connection to computer. Sony Bloggie MHS-CM5 can record real HD videos with 1920×1080 pixel resolution in H.264-compressed  [...]

JVC Everio GZ-MS120 with dual memory card slots

Camcorders — January 11, 2010 at 2:07 am
JVC Everio GZ-MS120 is a sub $300 class of camcorder and it is for people who are fine with SD quality or want to upload photos on the web. Such camcorders are now struggling to compete with the cheaper pocket video camcorders which capture 720p video. Optical zoom and storage are the only two features now which give such camcorders an edge over the mini camcorders. The highlights of this device is the presence of 35x optical zoom and two slots of SD/SDHC which lets you plug in two 32 GB cards, giving you a 64 GB storage space in all. There is no internal memory though. If you like Flip mini camcorders and don’t mind the big size, get this unit. It is not capable of recording HD videos but is an excellent option if you are looking for SD recording for putting clips on websites like YouTube. The bundled user-friendly software further helps you to put the videos on sites. The battery  [...]

JVC Everio GZ-MS130- A Good Mini Camcorder For Stiff Budgets

Camcorders — December 4, 2009 at 4:57 am
There are cheaper hand video cams coming in the market and they are catching on fast on the sales of the minicamcorders, so the latter are thinking of new ways to keep a hold over the market. Optical zoom and storage are the two features where hand video cams cannot improve and hence these two remain the main selling points when it comes to mini camcorders. JVC Everio GZ-MS130 is all glory in both of these features, the camcorder has 16 GB of internal storage space which should do for storing video applications and there is 35X optical zoom and these two are hard to achieve for a hand video cam. The resolution of photos are 640x480 pixels very much typical of entry level mini camcorders. The camera automatically powers itself when you open the LCD and it shuts down when you close it. You can upload photos and videos to YouTube through camera and when you activate the option on the video  [...]

Review Of JVC Picsio GC-FM1 (Purple)

Camcorders — November 25, 2009 at 12:54 am
Camcorders are not as popular as mobile phones or even laptops, you wont purchase a camcorder more than once or twice in your life, unless you are some crazy shutter bug freak who buys a camcorder as soon as something with better hard ware is announced. That said, camcorders aren’t as popular as other electronic gadgets and JVC Picsio won’t change this reality. The face of the camcorder has a LCD which is tiny yet good looking and below them are the controls. The controls are very difficult to use, starting with the power button, it is impossible to use it with you finger. It is too tiny and dug inside, so you will have to use finger nails. When the button is pressed, the device takes a moment to start and you won’t know whether the device is switched on or not. You will press a number of times and when the device finally boots you will be wondering which press did the trick. Other  [...]

Review Of The Sony DCR-SX41 Handycam

Camcorders — September 11, 2009 at 3:30 pm
The DCR-SX41 was designed for user-friendly recording and doesn't pack a lot of extra shooting features. When set to Auto, the SX41 adjusts the focus, white balance, and even scene selection automatically, to give the best picture it can. But if you want to do things yourself then, there are scene options and the white balance can also be adjusted. There also is a focus and exposure controller. What you cannot do is control the amount of zoom with the screen, making it difficult to use if the cam is supported on to a tripod. The SX41 also has an ‘Instant-On’ option that gets the fires up the cam to record very fast simply by opening the LCD, although this feature is common it functions smoothly. The auto-focus is very responsive too. The battery life for the power pack, which is included, is an estimated 100 minutes of continuous operation;  [...]

Review Of The Canon Vixia HG21 Camcorder

Camcorders — September 7, 2009 at 7:15 pm
When you turn the power on, the inbuilt lens shutter opens up and the magic begins to unfold. To the left of the camcorder you find the 2.7 inch, 211000 pixels, widescreen swing-out LCD. There also is a pull-out viewfinder when the lighting conditions are too extreme for the LCD screen. Adjustments for the monitor are also provided, but they are all buried deep in the menu system. A five-way joystick and Function button is introduced to navigate frequently needed settings during shooting. The stick also lets you navigate through menus and make alterations. The bottom controls give you an access to the main functions, allowing you to adjust the zoom, enable the backlight control and start or stop your videos and stills during playback. On the body there are just two controls, the Easy and Display/Battery Info. This gives information about the camcorder when the screen is open. The easy  [...]

Review Of Kodak Zi8 Pocket Video Camera Aqua Blue

Camcorders — August 14, 2009 at 9:30 am
Since last some years, the pocket Camcorder is no more in the trend and they were taken off for various reasons, but after that people really missed any of the camcorders that can match the quality and also the size that was the fabulous part of the pocket Camcorder. Now, since last few years, the Flip Video is considered as the option for that but still the people were not satisfied fully with that. Even the Camcorder manufacturer companies like Creative, Sony and RCA were trying to match the quality of the Flip Video and the size of the pocket Camcorder but one of them could reach the nearer place also. But ultimately in the end this job is done to massive extent by the technological giants, Kodak with the introduction of Kodak Zi8 Pocket Video Camera. The Zi8 is not the exact replacement of the pocket camcorder but still it’s quite near to that device and also it has got the smashing  [...]
