BlackBerry Torch 9850 – Sharp-Looking, Dual-Mode World Phone
Cell Phones — September 23, 2011 at 10:52 pm | Comment NowThe BlackBerry Torch 9850 is among the latest offerings from RIM, which runs on the BlackBerry 7 Operating System, and is also the latest complete touchscreen offering from the company.
The BlackBerry Torch 9850 is almost identical on all the three carriers (US Cellular, Sprint and Verizon), and although it is among the very few complete touchscreen handset from the company we have to say that it was rather impressive. The BlackBerry Torch 9850 has a 3.7 in display, which not only is crisp but also is rather colorful and the operating system 7 brings a huge number of improvements under the hood, such as a nice browser and the 720p HD video capture. The 1.2GHz processor of the handset betters the overall performance of the handset. Also if you like to travel abroad a lot, this handset also is a dual-mode GSM/CDMA handset.
The specifications of the handset put it in the upper mid range [...]
Motorola Droid Bionic – Better Than The Prototype
Cell Phones — September 11, 2011 at 11:54 pm | Comment NowThe Motorola Droid Bionic is one of the very few handsets that we`ve waited for so long that it almost turned into a myth. But thankfully, the Droid Bionic finally arrived. We first heard of the superphone from Motorola back at the CES 2011, where Motorola showcased a parade of prevailing Android handsets including the likes of the Motorola Xoom, the Motorola Atrix 4G and, certainly, the Motorola Droid Bionic. The Droid Bionic with its Verizon LTE Speeds, dual-core processor, HD video recording, juicy 4.3 in qHD display and HDMI port, the Motorola Droid Bionic was an was a pioneering handset in a lot of ways.
Though, since the Droid Bionic was first proclaimed plenty of dual-core handsets have entered the market ahead of it, such as Motorola's own Droid X2 and T-Mobile G2x. The Droid Bionic also lost to HTC Thunderbolt as first 4G LTE phone of Verizon. The Droid Bionic started loosing [...]
HTC ChaCha – Affordable Facebook Committed Phone
Cell Phones — September 11, 2011 at 12:44 am | Comment NowThe latest addiction that the modern people are suffering from is the addiction to Social Networking websites, and if you also have that addiction and are an addicted Facebook user then HTC has the perfect device for you. The all new HTC ChaCha is the latest smartphone offering from HTC and the handset brings a complete QWERTY keyboard and also has a touchscreen in addition to a dedicated Facebook button, which offers you instant access to the most popular social networking website in current time. Having said that, while we think that the keyboard of the handset is an utter winner and the affordable Vodafone-exclusive HTC ChaCha is a good value for money handset, the small screen of the device could be frustrating at times for the users.
Design and Display:
The HTC ChaCha flaunts a complete QWERTY keyboard in addition to a 2.6 inch capacitive touch screen. In one look the design [...]
HTC Arrive – Big display
Cell Phones — September 7, 2011 at 10:46 pm | Comment NowThis cellphone was first known as HTC 7 Pro when I first saw it at the New York unveiling and this handset is the first foray of Sprint in to the world of Windows Phone 7. Apart from that, it is the first Windows Phone 7 on CDMA networks and also the first model of Windows Phone 7 to have the cut-and-pste update of Microsoft.
Because of all this, there are plenty of expectations from this cell phone and for me, it does live up to all of them. Just like HTC Surround, this smartphone is a thick chunk of a gadget but the extra bulk gives you a very responsive keyboard and screen tilts to give you optimal typing experience. While testing the HTC Arrive, I found that the data speeds were good but it is disappointing to see that there is no option for 4G WiMax.
There [...]
Motorola Theory – A Great Messaging Phone For Boost Mobile
Cell Phones — September 3, 2011 at 1:42 am | Comment Nowa Theory is yet another introduction to Boost Mobile’s messaging phone offering made this year alongside the Motorola Clutch +i475. The Theory is pretty much like the Clutch +i475 except for the fact that it doesn’t have push-to-talk potentialities. Although, we would have to say that it does offer a better 1.3 MP camera (The Clutch on the other hand had only a VGA camera). Also we would like to add that with its haptic QWERTY keyboard, the Theory worked pretty nicely. Although, we still would say that don’t expect a lot from this fundamental handset.
Design:
As far as design is concerned, the Motorola Theory has a design pretty similar to the Motorola Clutch +i475. Measuring 4.4 in x 2.4 in x 0.5 in (H x W x D), the handset isn’t all that bigger either. The handset has the similar line up form factor, having the same curved corners and a soft-affect finish on its rear [...]
BlackBerry Bold 9930 – Nice, But Pricey
Cell Phones — August 21, 2011 at 12:50 am | Comment NowWe could describe the all new BlackBerry Bold 9930 only by saying that it is the best BlackBerry Bold handset, and by doing that we won’t be lying or exaggerating it at all. This also makes it clear why RIM considers their Bold 9900 series as their flagship model in their latest line of OS 7 handsets. Now, we know that the Torch 9810 flaunts a slide out keyboard and that the BlackBerry Torch 9850/9860 had a complete touch-screen interface. But the BlackBerry Bold 9930 has been developed on the iconic BlackBerry design and it enhances it tenfold. The Stunning good looks and the imposing feature set, improvements under-the-hood because of OS 7, and astral performance decisively puts the handset in the category of premium smartphone.
Sure, we had our set of concerns about the handset. Now, while we like it, we would also like to say that the design of the device is more evolutionary than [...]
Samsung Freeform III (SCH-R380) – A Solid Messaging Phone
Cell Phones — August 15, 2011 at 12:30 am | Comment NowRegardless of the segment of the electronics market, the one thing that’s common in general is the fact that there’s no sense in introducing a successor to any device without making any significant update in it, or as we like to say “there’s no sense of upgrading a device without upgrading it”. But sadly that’s the case with some trilogies and sequels that we’ve come across sin the market recently. The most recent one being the ill-fated Samsung Eternity II, which basically downgraded camera of the handset in comparison to its precursor. Although that’s not the case with the Samsung Freeform III SCH-R380, we mean the camera thing. The Samsung Freeform III still has the same average 1.3 MP cameras, but the good news here is that the third edition of the MetroPCS handset doubles its exterior memory and now the handset comes with 32GB of external memory instead of the 16GB of [...]
