LG Attune – Entry Level Messaging Handset

Cell Phones — August 7, 2011 at 12:30 am | Comment Now
This isn’t the first time when a US cellular has rebranded an existing handset from a different carrier, so as to make it their own. One such example of that is the LG Apex, which quintessentially is exactly the same like the LG Ally barring a small number of differences. The same is the case with the LG Attune, which is the US Cellular's variant of the LG Cosmos Touch. The LG Attune flaunts the same basic messaging handset design and the overall features of the handset are also rather unchanged. That said, it still is not a complete clone, there are few small differences. Our review of LG Attune will be highlighting what separates the Attune from the Cosmos Touch. Design: As far as design is concerned, the LG Attune is pretty much like the LG Cosmos Touch, and measures the same 4.05 inches x 2.08 inches x 0.65 inch (L x W x D). By itself, the Attune boasts  [...]

Motorola Titanium – The Best iDEN Handset Find out More On It Here

Cell Phones — July 31, 2011 at 12:30 am | Comment Now
Though, Sprint has proclaimed that they will be shutting down their Nextel iDEN network by this year end, the company keeps launching iDEN devices. The only explanation to this according to us is to fulfill the prior agreements and contracts. The latest offering from the company is the Motorola Titanium, which also is one of the very few iDEN Smartphones in the market; as a matter of fact the only other Android iDEN device that is present in the market is the Motorola i1, which still is being loaded with the Android 1.5. The all new Motorola Titanium certainly is not all that advanced either, unfortunately. The titanium comes with Android 2.1 only, which is a couple of generations behind the current generation of technology, and to top it all, the iDEN network is not known for its quick data transfer speeds. Though, the good new here is that the handset has a military-grade toughness,  [...]

Motorola Triumph – High-End Android Smartphone in Android Market

Cell Phones — July 30, 2011 at 12:30 am | Comment Now
In the recent past year, if we have to take a name of a mobile carrier that actually has impressed us, it will be Virgin Mobile, and if you don’t agree with us, look at some of the recent prepaid Smartphone launches from the company like the Android devices such as the LG Optimus V and the Samsung Intercept. But while we appreciate both the Smartphones, we think that they were unequivocally entry-level having slow processors and didn’t even had as many features as some of the high-end Smartphones that we’ve seen in the market. This is the reason why people who wanted Smartphones having modern features went out of luck. But that seems to change now, with the all new Motorola Triumph, which enters the market with a promise to be the fresh flagship handset for the carrier. The good news here is that, as for now the Motorola Triumph is the most advanced handset in the Virgin lineup and  [...]

RIM BlackBerry Curve 8520 – for first time smartphone buyers

Cell Phones — July 23, 2011 at 12:30 am | Comment Now
Intrinsically speaking, RIM BlackBerry phones have always catered to the upmarket users but it was inevitable that they would make an attempt at the mainstream consumer market soon. RIM BlackBerry Curve 8520 is an outcome of such an endeavour and this smartphone also goes by the name BlackBerry Gemini. This handset has a pretty solid form factor but the specs are average. You still get that wonderful QWERTY keyboard which this company has been known for since a long time. One unique feature here is that the optical ‘trackball’ replaces the analog one that which we have known in the past. Design RIM BlackBerry Curve 8520 has a traditional BB layout and there is a 2.64 screen sitting above the full QWERTY keyboard. On the either side, there are two convenience keys on the either side and a two megapixel camera on the back. This  [...]

LG Cosmos 2 – A Compact Messaging Phone

Cell Phones — July 22, 2011 at 11:39 pm | Comment Now
LG might have expanded their presence in the Smartphone market in US, with their models like T-Mobile’s G2X and LG Revolution, but the company still takes care of the customers looking for simple messaging handsets. The all new LG Cosmos 2 from LG is the latest offering of the company for the customers looking for basic messaging phones and the Cosmos 2 enters the market with Verizon Wireless. The Cosmos 2 is the heir of LG’s Cosmos messaging phone launched last year. The all new LG Cosmos 2 is a rather entry-level handset even by the standards of modern feature phone, and comes with a 1.3 MP camera and doesn’t have 3G. Although, the silver lining here is that the handset has Bluetooth, music player, mobile e-mail and even offers access to some of the prominent social networks. The handset doesn’t have a lot of enhancements over its precursor, but the handset is available for free  [...]

HTC Status – Country’s First Facebook Phone

Cell Phones — July 17, 2011 at 12:23 am | Comment Now
In simple terms the best introduction for HTC Status will be that it is the first “Facebook Phone” of the country. The Status has been designed in collaboration with Facebook, and was firstly launched at the Mobile World Congress, but at that time it was launched in the form of HTC ChaCha. The biggest selling point of the handset is its out-and-out Facebook button, which makes it easy for the users to post status updates, upload photos, share links and several other stuff. Apart from being the first Facebook phone, the HTC Status is a superb novice Android phone. The status comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread and has other features like a 5 MP rear camera, a huge QWERTY keyboard, a VGA camera on the front and more. Though, despite all this the Status suffers from a small landscape-leaning screen, which at times could be rather painful to use. The HTC Status is available for $49.99 with  [...]

If you want to jump on the Android bandwagon, but arent ready to spend big bucks on expensive Android handsets like the T-Mobile G2X or the HTC Sensation, then there are plenty of budget Android phones available in the market. Some other budget Android offerings from T-mobile include the likes of the T-Mobile Comet and LG Optimus T. The Samsung Dart T499 that we are covering here is the latest entrant of segment and is an Android 2.2 handset, which is available for free with 2 year contract and an online concession. The handset is an entry-level phone, and keeping that in mind, it’s worth keeping in mind that the handset won’t amaze you with its design and build, but the good news here is that the handset does offer impressive Android functionality, for an indomitable price. Design: The Samsung Dart T499 is an entry level

Samsung Trender SPH-M380 – Affordable Messaging Option

Cell Phones — July 2, 2011 at 12:30 am | Comment Now
The Samsung Trender SPH-M3880 aka the Samsung Trender is Sprint’s recently launched messaging phone from Samsung, and more than anything the phone made us chuckle at it when we first interacted with it. The simple reason for this being the fact that the handset comes with Samsung’s proprietary OS instead of the Android operating system, which is in great demand these days. The reason why we chuckled at the Trender has nothing to do with the phone, instead it’s the Samsung's proprietary operating system, which we assure you can be anything but not trendy, and that irony in the name made us chuckle. But then we tried to find out the reasons why Samsung has given the Android OS to the phone, considering the fact that the phone also has QWERTY keypad design, and upon examining a lot we thought may be the small screen size of the handset has a little bit to do with it or one another reason  [...]
