Top 5 mobile phones to look for in 2011
Cell Phones — April 7, 2011 at 10:46 pm | Comment NowSony Ericsson Xperia Play
This is the most awaited phone in 2011 and everyone knows about it. This phone combines Sony’s PSP technology and a cell phone. The unique thing about this device is that it has dedicated controls for gaming and this could trigger a start in the world of mobile gaming. It also comes with PlayStation certification which will give access to a lot of games that aren’t otherwise available on the other handsets.
The biggest drawback of this phone might be the price. I am expecting it to be offered for free but the monthly contract fee will burn a big hole in the pocket. It is rumored to be around £35-40 per month. This price tag seems to be really big considering that some of the premium features are skipped here like Exmoor camera sensor and Bravia engine.

June speculated date for Apple iPhone 5 release
Cell Phones — April 5, 2011 at 9:46 pm | Comment NowiPhone is the most talked about smartphone in the world today and tech freaks are crazy about it. There are a lot of rumors going on the internet about the release date of the Apple iPhone 5. Few are arguing if the company will update its smartphone this year at all. A news site in South Korea said that Apple is planning to release the new version of the phone late in June. It is also said that Apple has confirmed the time frame.
But there are plenty of reasons to believe that these are just rumors because Apple generally doesn’t reveal release dates of their products like this. The report also says that Apple iPhone 5 will be released in the same time in both South Korea and US. This is a bit hard to believe considering the Asian country got the iPhone 4 about three months after the US release. However, our biggest doubt about the authenticity of this report is date on which it came [...]
Apple iPhone through the generations
Cell Phones — March 29, 2011 at 10:47 pm | Comment NowiPhone is the worlds best selling smartphone and it is also the most popular one. When Apple first announced the phone, there were a lot of people saying that the device wouldn’t sell well. Some were saying that the device should be name iMistake. But Apple has defied all the odds and has completely revolutionized the smartphone world. iPhone was popular because of its user friendly interface; the phone could be used by both youth and businessmen. There were a lot of features for both the categories of users. When Steve Jobs first said that you don’t even need a stylus for using this phone, it was hard to believe it but then the smooth screen took our breath away. There were other features like 3.5 mm headphones jack, accelerometer, integration of iPod like music features, excellent video player, etc. on the phone which people loved. Apple has regularly updated the iPhone according to [...]
LG Renoir KC910 – 8 MP camera
Cell Phones — March 28, 2011 at 12:05 am | Comment NowLG Renoir KC910 is named after a French impressionist and this handset from LG is quiet sturdy and slick. The design is utilitarian and I would call it a work of art. The body is made of plastic along with metal reflective curved edges. The display is three inches big with a resolution of 240x400 pixels. I found the colorful and sharp screen very easy to use. There is a front facing camera above the screen for making video calls and underneath the screens, there are three soft buttons for accessing application shortcuts and for calling. On the right side, there are four buttons along with handset lock, dedicated camera key, and volume rocker.
On the underside, the LG Renoir KC910 has Schneider-Kreuznach camera lens along with LED flash. I was glad to see that the camera lens is covered and it is activated when you press a switch. LG Renoir KC910 phone [...]
Huawei Ascend 2 coming soon for Cricket
Cell Phones — March 27, 2011 at 12:05 am | Comment NowMaybe you haven’t heard of Huawei Ascend (and we really don’t blame you if you haven’t), it was a Android powered phone. Now, the manufacturer is back with a sequel for that phone - Huawei Ascend 2 and it will be covered by Cricket. The newer iteration is better than the older in every way. It is now lighter, slimmer, and sleeker and you will really notice this when you take in the hand. There is no trackball here and the four touch sensitive buttons are sacrificed for hard physical ones. Above them, there is a three and half inch touch screen capacitive display.
Camera on the Huawei Ascend 2 too is upgraded. It is now five megapixels shooter as compared to 3.2 megapixel lens on the Ascend 2. Under the hood, there is a 800 MHz processor which promises to keep things inside the mobile phone fast.
It is a bit disappointing to see that the smartphone [...]
Tips to save your Windows phone 7 battery
Cell Phones — March 24, 2011 at 1:37 am | Comment NowIt is been about ten months since Windows Phone 7 was announced last year in Barcelona. Microsoft has made a lot of experiments in this mobile platform. They have brought smart apps and have also managed to merge an entire desktop in your cellphone. Smartphones have always been using high end apps simultaneously and this seriously taxes the battery of the device. I sharing some tips with you guys on how to save on the battery juice.
Change the interface color –
In Windows Phone7, you can change the color of UI or User Interface. It is recommended that you choose dark or black background. Black backgrounds save on a lot of energy and this can be done on all cellphones.

Sweet revenge for AT&T
Cell Phones — March 23, 2011 at 10:04 pm | Comment NowAT&T has bought T-Mobile but don’t expect any TV commercials showing that the couples are not a marriage made in heaven. You can expect less number of people complaining about AT&T’s unreliable and sluggish network but on the other side, T-Mobile is working hard to keep their operations smooth. T-Mobile customers are now coy over buying cellphones from this carrier as they know that their network will be changed soon and T-Mobile is finding it difficult to keep their customers at ease because of this.
It seems that AT&T is finally getting it revenge against T-Mobile. The latter carrier used to berate AT&T through ad campaigns. AT&T have made a few statements pointing out the shortcomings of T-Mobile strategy and they are using it as a defense to prove that the purchase of AT&T will be beneficial.

LG KM710 – Easy to use UI
Cell Phones — March 21, 2011 at 12:05 am | Comment NowLG KM710 is a slider phone and a unique design feature about the phone is the presence of navigation wheel on the bottom. It is similar to the click wheel on Apple iPods but you cannot move through the menus by sliding your fingers on it because the wheel isn’t touch-sensitive. Still, the wheel has four buttons on the ends for going up, down, right and left. The slider is a bit wobbly and hence I was concerned about the build quality of the phone.
A big highlight of the LG KM710 is the mini display that is located inside navigation wheel. This screen is 1.1 inches big and has a resolution of 128x128 pixels. The screen is round looking but if you take a closer look, you will realize that it is square. The screen has touch sensitive layer on the top and it can be used as centre select button.
The screen of the LG KM710 displays clock in the standby mode and when you [...]
