Logitech Speaker System Z320 – Good Sound Quality But Expensive
Consumer Electronics — December 29, 2009 at 4:19 amLogitech got us 4 speakers for personal computer or laptop and all of them are in the price range of $69.99-$129.99. None of these speakers have USB connectivity and they have drivers at both the sides which give you omni direction sound output.
The speakers have omni directional sound as it has drivers both in the front and the back. This is seldom seen in speakers and we think this is great innovation. Even if you turn the speaker around the back speakers will give you same quantity of noise since the size of the drivers is same on both the sides. The speakers are designed to be placed in the center of the room or someplace where the sound can be thrown in all the directions. We think this is a bit difficult if you are using this set as a desktop speaker since the back of the speaker will face the wall.
The speakers are not that heavy one speaker weighs about 1.1 pounds and the [...]
Review Of Mint Studio Speaker System
Consumer Electronics — November 27, 2009 at 2:05 amWe haven’t tested speaker systems for quite a long time in our test centers so we were happy to finally find one on our tables when we came to work the next day.
Mint Studio Speaker System is a simple looking but provides the features that you expect from it. The sound quality is also pleasing.
With Mint Studio Speaker System you can connect your iPod or iPhone to the dock and listen to the songs. There is a remote that gives you the freedom to control the play back from a distance. With the iPhone you will have to enter the device in airplane mode so that it doesn’t interfer with the device.
Most cell phones are these days equipped with ‘Airplane mode’. When you activate this control you cannot send or receive calls, text messages and you cannot do browsing or use any other communication based feature on the phone. But you can use the phone to play games, store reminders [...]
Review Of The Oppo BDP-83 Blu Ray Player
Consumer Electronics — October 1, 2009 at 4:25 amThe oppo BDP-83 is a universal player and can support all formats that include DVD, Blu-ray, SACD, DVD-Audio and CD. It even plays the PAL- encoded DVD accurately, so you can pull- out all your old favorite CD’s and watch them in new light. the BDP-83 has one of the best user-interfaces in the market. On setup, the menu system presents you with unwilted text where you cab adjust the audio and video settings. Every basic aspect has been covered by the BDP-83, it is profile2.0 compliant and also features an on board decoder for Dolby True HD and DTS-HD master audio. It also features 1 GB of Ram onboard and storage can be increased by the USB ports.
But what was a real disappointing surprise was that the player lacked a Wi-Fi system which the other manufacturers like LG and PS3 have. The company blamed the exclusion on the processor that could not handle the wi-fi capabilities. Moreover, [...]
Review Of The Sony BDP-S360 Blu Ray Player
Consumer Electronics — September 30, 2009 at 10:30 pmThis latest one from Sony offers good replacement to the BDP S350 with a nice decent set of features. With this one, I guess Sony is trying hard to move its standalone players out of the shadow of the PS3 and that too, without burning a hole in the user’s pocket.
This one looks absolutely drab with the conventional box shape and a full black finish. The only way to jazz this one up was probably to add a little ray of blue light and LOL they’ve done just that. For starters, the USB port is located at the back of the player. I mean what sense it makes to have the USB port behind. Everytime someone needs some easy access to media, he will have to search for it behind. To add to this there are no multichannel analogue outputs so you don’t get to enjoy any of the HD TV formats.
Web connection and downloading Live content is made possible with the Ethernet Ports. Alas, they haven’t [...]
Review Of The Panasonic DMR-BS750 Blu-Ray Recorder
Consumer Electronics — September 30, 2009 at 2:05 pmThis one from Panasonic could well be called as the heart of entertainment for U.K. Anyways all the stupid metaphors aside the DMR-BS750 truly brings you entertainment unlimited.
Some of the capabilities that this one includes are: DVD and hard disk recording; twin Freesat tuners, Profile 2.0 playback and compatibility with MP3s, JPEGs, DV, AVCHD, DivX files and audio CDs.
With the help of the Ethernet connection CD’s can be renamed by using Gracenote , it also enables BD Live playback and allows access to internet widgets such as Picasa and Youtube. But the feature that makes this one rock is it’s ability to record HD onto Blu-ray. Yes, its true this one can broadcast quality recordings onto optical discs. With the Video tape becoming extinct centuries ago and the DVD craze deteriorating this one comes in at a perfect time.
Though recording HD onto Blu Ray is just as simple [...]
Review Of The Sony STR-DN1000
Consumer Electronics — September 25, 2009 at 8:45 amThe new DN1000 launched by Sony is the follow up to last years STR-DG920. having quite good designed and equipped features similar to the DG920, let’s find out it if the DN1000 is able to make its mark.
Talking about design, you have to realize that Sony is a company who’s products; always go hand in hand with the latest trend. But AV receivers are something that performed really well, but had a standard matte black finish to it. the DN1000 however is a bit different. It comes in a shiny black ink like covering, with the chrome Sony logo at the top. There is a tiny LCD panel in the center of the receiver, a volume control and the selector buttons on the right and a power button on the left. At the bottom there are eight buttons, an AV button and automatic mike calibration hidden by the plastic panel covering it. the universal remote control looks a little cramped, although it provides [...]

Consumer Electronics, Gadgets — August 22, 2009 at 7:05 amThe Samsung LE32B650 is one of the latest in Samsung's line up of the 'standard backlit' 32" LCD HDTVs in the series 6 650 range. But the Samsung LE32B650 is one television that NOBODY can ignore for quite some time (let alone forget).Everyone knows that Samsung is always great when it comes to value for money with their products so at first look, the $600 or so price tag raised quite a number of eyebrows.
