Gateway DX4300-15e – Wi-Fi and TV tuner with HD video output
Desktops — March 8, 2010 at 2:32 am | Comment NowWe don’t care much about a TV tuner card in the computer; we’d rather have that money spent on a discrete graphics card or a faster processor. Usually you have to sacrifice on features if you go for a computer with a TV tuner card but this Gateway machine is an exception to this. But if you are not too keen on a TV tuner card we will recommend you not to go for this because you can find a faster PC in this price range elsewhere. But if you need a PC with TV tuner card, look no further and buy this machine.
Gateway DX4300-15e has to face tough competition from HP Pavilion p6320y because of the components are quite similar. Moreover, you will find less expensive desktops such as Gateway DX4831-01e and HP Pavilion p6310y with quite similar features such as quad-core or dual core processor, 1TB hard disk drivers, more upgrade options, multiple video outputs and 6-8GB [...]
Review Of The Dell Studio XPS 435
Desktops — September 2, 2009 at 5:30 pm | 2 CommentsTo start with it’s got a gadget case on the top of the chassis which isn’t uncommon these days to store your cell phone o probably the iPod when u need to sync it with the desktop. The USB ports facilitate easy cord connections. The side panel also displays an easy sliding motion, once unscrewed. Comparing it with its competitor Assus Essentio CG5290 it surely scores high on the looks, though the Asus has better performance, faster graphics card and more RAM.
Coming to the actual juice of the system: scores of apps on the Windows Vista can’t bog the XPS 435 down. Video-end-coding and 3D rendering also ran pretty smoothly on the XPS 435.coming to the actual gaming part, the Dell XPS came out with amazing results in the gaming tests that we put it through. Crysis and Call [...]
Review Of The Acer Aspire M3800-U3802A
Desktops — August 31, 2009 at 8:15 am | 3 CommentsGoing on to the actual performance of the Acer: we put it through a few tests... like the Adobe Photoshop CS3 image-processing test, Apple iTunes encoding test, Multimedia multitasking, Cinebench test and compared it with the other on the shelf desktops like the Gateway SX2800-01, Asus CM5570-AP002. All the testing led to a simple straight forward conclusion… the Acer is not as fast as the Gateway and also it dallies behind in the budget competition.
The Acer can easily brag about its features which include: HDMI video outputs, standalone optical digital audio out, and a spattering of USB 2.0 ports. As far as external storage connections are concerned the Acer comes packed with a device-friendly FireWire 400. The power supply of around 250 watts is a major bummer because [...]
Review Of eMachines EZ1601-01
Desktops — August 30, 2009 at 11:00 am | 3 CommentsBeing Intel atom powered, it’s kind of a surprise that this nettop costs less than $500 i.e. It is priced at a low $399,but the thing I don’t understand here is that the Intel atom was basically devised for portable computers… why is it being used as a processor for this nettop?? Anyways, the price somewhere down the corner makes this all-in-one a kind of a perfect choice for a second or a third computer in a place where the space constraints are tight. On the back there are vertically mounted ports which make it difficult for connecting the cables.
Unlike its competitor Asus Eee Top ET1602 this one does not have a touch screen. But frankly I don’t give a damn about the touch screen because I am getting almost the same features at a comparatively low price plus I could easily sacrifice it for the large screen just to avoid straining my eyes. [...]
Review Of The Asus Essentio CG5290- BP007
Desktops — August 26, 2009 at 8:30 am | 5 CommentsThe Asus Essentio CG5290- BP007 surely attracts a lot of attention... all thanks to its pricing and the features it has to offer. This system is basically made for all the gaming aficionados. It surely lacks the killer polishing of all its competitors, but the gaming appeal along with the reasonable price tag that it offers surely makes up for it. Talking technically, the huge case does provide for more airflow which is a plus point. It is also the only desktop in the back-to-school range which comes with an Intel core i7 chip. It comes along with a dynamic NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 graphics card which is the one of the most outstanding feature offered.
Talking about the graphics card, though Dell’s Studio XPS 450 and HP’s Pavilion Elite e9180t have almost the same pricing they fall short on the graphics options. Unlike its competitor from Dell, the Asus Essentio doesn’t have a blu-ray [...]
