Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (LTE) – Verizon’s LTE Version Of The Tablet

Gadgets — September 18, 2011 at 11:07 pm | Comment Now
The all new Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 from Verizon wireless is pretty much like the Wi-Fi only variant of the tablet. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 is a thin, Android tablet which is positioned just after Apple’s iPad, and the only reason for that as far as we know is the lack of tablet-friendly apps of the operating system. The Verizon’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 brings LTE speeds and coverage on the tab and omits (in the interim) the TouchWiz interface, and at the same time shines the hardware a tad. The new Galaxy Tab 10.1 is a nice device, but the small software selection of the device remains a major problem. Design: The all new Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is pretty much like its non-Verizon model and unless you don’t have a keen eye for gadget design you wont notice any difference between the two tablets models in one look. However, we spent some time with the Verizon’s  [...]

Sony Walkman NWZ-A845 – iPod-Beating Sound Quality

Gadgets — August 6, 2011 at 12:40 am | Comment Now
“Walkman” has been the unanimous name for the tape-players, even though many of them weren’t actually made by Sony, and then came the MP3 Players like iPod and others, and now every MP3 players is called “iPod”, just like the “Walkman”. It’s been a long time since the evolution of Walkman, but Sony still manufactures MP3 players under their Walkman brand. The latest Walkman offering from the company is the Walkman NWZ-A845. The all new Walkman NWZ-A845 is sufficiently stylish with its 2.8 inch screen, which not only was clear but also was rather bright. The Walkman NWZ-A845 was slim and light and comfortably fitted in our pockets. The primary buttons on the Walkman are too small, and that is what makes selecting options in the menus a fiddly and difficult. Also considering the fact that the device is rather narrow, we found it a tad awkward to hold the device while using  [...]

Barnes & Noble Nook – Pure E-Reader

Gadgets — June 25, 2011 at 12:30 am | Comment Now
In the race where the likes of iPad and Kindle are running, the Barnes & Noble’s Nook surely would be considered a dark horse, and if you aren’t counting on it then we don’t blame you. But sometimes the dark horses stuns even the most reliable ones, and that’s exactly what is the case with the Nook, and if you have played with an iPad and a Kindle, then we’d urge to give a shot to this dark horse, the Barnes and Noble Nook. We’ve been testing the latest black and white variant of Barnes & Noble’s Nook e-reader, and, well, you can say that it has color us impressed. The latest Barnes & Noble Nook is freshly-updated, and is smaller and lighter than the Kindle of Amazon, and those qualities alone are sufficient to give it a fair chance grabbing a fair share of the e-ink device market. The new Nook even has the capability of social media sharing,  [...]

HTC EVO View 4G Tablet – A Decent 7 Inch Tablet

Gadgets — June 18, 2011 at 12:40 am | Comment Now
The HTC EVO View 4G Tablet is the second tablet offering from HTC, after the HTC Flyer and at least on papers this one is a tad different from the Flyer tablet. The View 4G tablet flaunts the same 7 in display, aluminum body, a 1.5GHz processor, a blend of Android Gingerbread and HTC Sense, 32 GB storage and a stylus pen. All those features of the View 4G doesn’t makes it look any different from a new device. Although, the distinctive factor here is that the HTC View 4G is the first Wi-Max tablet offering from Sprint, which will be sold in US having a 4G radio that promises upload/download speeds of equal to 1Mbps and 10Mbps in that order on the carrier’s network. Hardware: The HTC EVO View 4G Tablet on a whole has pretty much the same design, but still there are some changes and the only change that separates the View 4G from the

ViewSonic ViewPad 10 – Double Dose of Calamity

Gadgets — June 13, 2011 at 12:15 am | Comment Now
ViewSonic has been making Windows-based tablet PCs since model year 2001, and that’s the reason why it would have been infuriating for them to see Apple iPad ruling their market in 2010. So, the company decided to do, what they must do and that is to, embrace Android. As a result of which we got the ViewSonic ViewPad 10, which we are reviewing here. The ViewSonic ViewPad 10 is a dual-booting 10 inch, Windows-Android tablet having plenty of compassion and supercilious goals, and an absolute disaster on almost every front. In all fairness, we will like to say that Android is a completely new ball game for ViewSonic, and when you boot the ViewPad to Windows, the device isn’t half-bad. But that is not to say that it  [...]

Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse – Will It Click Users

Gadgets — May 29, 2011 at 12:05 am | Comment Now
Microsoft has always been a coveted name in the world of computer hardware and has a respectable position for its hardware, but because of some revolutionary designs from Apple and for the fact that it took complete one year to come up with the Magic Mouse, the company was considered lagging behind Apple. The Microsoft Arc Touch mouse, which was launched last year, was the flagship designer mouse for the company. This mouse was launched in the market to abridge the gap between the preceding Arc mouse and the impending launch of the Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse which is set to enter the markets this summer. The functionality for the Arc comes from a touch strip, which has been placed on a silver bar on the frontage. This lets you to flick, and scrolling the page up and down, with the double tap to center click. The touch strip of the mouse could be a tad unusual for the users and definitely  [...]

iPad 2 vs the first generation iPad – What has changed

Gadgets — May 2, 2011 at 1:18 am | Comment Now
For a lot of people, the first Apple iPad was already a great device but the manufacturer did have some things to tweak here. The screen resolution hasn’t improved and there isn’t the Thunderbolt ultra speed connector either. But the design of the chassis has changed, it is now lighter and thinner as compared to the predecessor and it is more powerful too. There is Apple A5 SOC 1 GHz dual core processor which makes sure that things don’t slow down anytime. Also, the faster processor doesn’t come at the cost of lower battery life. The battery life is the same as the original device and the manufacturer is not charging a higher price for the iPad 2. The cost is the same for the three different memory versions. Also, this iteration is also available in white skin now and it looks really cool. Apple is offering a cool cover with this gadget which is quite versatile in use. Finally, there  [...]

On the rear end of the device, there is Ethernet port, USB 2.0 port for connecting to computers, 3.5 mm aux stereo input jack, and composite video output for TV connectivity. Apart from accepting the standard analog cables there is 3.5 mm jack for input which works along with the optical digital cables too. USB port is meant to be used with connections for Macs and PCs.
