Samsung UN55C9000 – With a touch screen remote
Television — February 13, 2011 at 12:05 am | Comment NowSamsung could have waited for Apple to turn up with an iPhone pairing app but instead they went ahead and made their own multimedia centric touch screen remote for the Samsung UN55C9000. This is a flag ship model from this manufacturer and the feature set is one of the best ever. Samsung UN55C9000 was seen at CES where it was introduced as the highest end panel. The most attractive part about the TV is its futuristic remote flaunting a touch screen. It makes the TV more user friendly and it can also show broadcast content of the TV while you are playing a Blu-ray disk (for example) on the big HDTV.
Integrated infrared and Wi-Fi lets you use the remote for commanding the TVs interactive features and AV devices. For the interactive features, the full QWERTY keyboard will be really useful. You can browse through the content (photos, music, videos) on the connected computers and other such [...]

Mitsubishi 3D TV review of Mitsubishi WD-65737
Television — February 9, 2011 at 12:05 am | Comment NowMitsubishi WD-65737 looks like a big black box. After the size, the first thing that we noticed on this Mitsubishi 3D TV was the front surface which is almost all screen. There is a tiny half inch thick border that would look really small even on smaller 26 inch TVs. This bezel surrounds the screen on sides and top and the cabinet is seven inches tall, measured from the bottom. The picture edge is matte black and there is also a glossy finish on the lower lip of bottom cabinet. An arc in the shape of a smile hides the speakers of this Mitsubishi 3D TV. There are a few controls covered by flip down door but I was disappointed to see that there were no memory card or input slots.
I liked the utilitarian styling of the Mitsubishi WD-65737 but the remote control is awful. The keys are all same sized and they all seem jumbled. There is also a Tinker-sized cursor [...]
Sharp Aquos Review – Quattron TV
Television — February 8, 2011 at 12:05 am | Comment NowSharp Aquos produces a very high quality picture and there is a lot to like about the videos. I was delighted to see that the sharpness, contrast and color were handled quite well. Apart from the picture quality, I was impressed with the design too. In fact, many Sharp Aquos review say that this is the best looking LCD TV from this company to date. It measures just 39mm in depth and the secret behind the slim profile is the LED edge backlighting. It is very curvaceous with a lot of eye catching details like the touch sensitive controls. You can easily mount this TV on the wall thanks to the slim profile and the manufacturer has given a lot of connections on the side for making life easy.
Sharp Aquos review says that the TV is very stylish but I was concerned about the amount of shine. It is very reflective and if you have a window in the living room, you will struggle [...]
Samsung UN55B8000 – Really thin TV
Television — February 7, 2011 at 12:05 am | Comment NowSamsung UN55B8000 belongs to Samsung’s repertoire of the edge-lit LED based LCDs TVs and the company is calling it LED TVs. The UNB8000 series is different from the cheaper siblings due to the 240Hz processing and if you wondering if this feature is worth the extra money, let me tell you that it is not. Apart from the more amount of Hz, the picture quality on these Samsung edge lit sets are the same and this also includes similar deep black levels, some problems in uniformity and mostly accurate color. The picture quality on the Samsung UN55B8000 is really good especially after the firmware update and it is hard to beat the styling too.
At the thickest point, the Samsung UN55B8000 is just 1.2 inches deep and it gets thinner on the edges. The thin profile of this TV is worth drooling upon. Samsung [...]
Sony XBR-46HX909 – Good feature set but expensive
Television — February 4, 2011 at 12:05 am | 2 CommentsWhen turned off, the Sony XBR-46HX909 looks like a black slab which is dominated by a single glass pane which extends to the edge on all the sides. A black metal sliver edges this glass and it wraps around edges. When you see it from the top or side, it complements the brushed subtle silver of low profile stand. The indicators and logos are almost invisible and the brand name ‘Sony’ lights up when you power on the TV. This light can be turned off if you don’t like it. The stand swivels and also tilts back, I don’t know why you’d want to tilt a TV as these panels are seldom mounted below the seating position.
Sony XBR-46HX909 has one of the best remotes I have ever seen to date. It is placed and size logically, the flush and tactile buttons [...]
