News — on September 29, 2009 at 7:00 am | 1 CommentDell has unveiled the latest wireless-charging Latitude Z laptop which features an instant ‘on’ OS as well as a wireless USB hook which hooks it up with the peripheral monitor and desktop. With features like that it surely has geeks salivating the world over.
For everyone who is waiting for the Z laptop in the U.S, it could be yours for $2000. no price as well as release date for the U.K market has been put forward by the manufacturers.
To boost the battery life this one has the Intel ULV processor and an ARM processor. The processor also helps in switching over to the instant ‘on’ mode. Identical to the Palm Pre, this one also has power coils which make the wireless charging possible. Obviously they are a bit bigger.
However along with the $2000 tag this one also has a few extra hidden costs. On the release the magnetic inductive charging stand could cost around $200 and even the wireless charging hub would cost an extra $200.

Talking about the dimensions, this one is 0.57 inches thin and is pretty much lightweight at 4.5 pounds.
We ll keep you posted on the price tags for the U.K market in the near future.

Sounds like a pretty sweet Dell. Although, that wireless recharging technology is frightening to me: once the robots become self-aware and take over, I’m sure they will put that technology to use.
