Free ZTE Salute from Verizon coming soon
News — on August 16, 2010 at 12:41 am | Comment NowThe unique thing about this phone is that the phone manufacturer hasn’t been associated with the Verizon before. We read about this phone on Wirefly.com; it is a vertical slider which has a 2.4 inches screen. You get a resolution of 240×320 pixels with support for 65,000 colors. There is no QWERTY keyboard which means that this phone is not meant for messaging freaks. All you get is an alpha numeric keypad. This is an entry level phone so don’t expect any bells and whistles in here. It is made just for people who want to make phone calls and send some text messages. There are some Verizon’s services on this phone like mobile e-mail, Bing search, subscription-based VZ Navigator for turn-by-turn directions, and Internet access.

There are also a few entry level features on the phone like Bluetooth and speakerphone. The phone has a camera as well but don’t get too excited about it. The camera is pretty entry level at 1.3 megapixel sensor and the photos will look really washed out. Other than that, the phone has support for MMS and SMS which lets you send and receive text messages. Organization tools of the phone include notes, clocks, alarms, calendar, calculator, etc. We haven’t reviewed the phone yet but we will do it as soon as we get the handset in our labs for testing. Wirefly, on its Website, says that this handset has talk time of four hours and the standby time is 9.2 days.
We tried to contact Verizon Wireless to ask more about this phone but they were unavailable for comment. But our sources said that this phone will be arrive in the market in a few weeks. ZTE Salute is free from Wirefly.com and you have to sign a two year service agreement with the Verizon Wireless, the service provider.
