President Barack Obama was all praise for technology vendors and he especially mentioned the works of Apple, IBM and Intel in his State of Union address. He appreciated Apple for its intention to make Macs in USA once more. He also spoke in high regards about Intel for its $ 5 billion chip plant in Arizona. He however spoke very highly about IBM’s venture creating professionals from high school students. Principal of P-Tech a venture by IBM, he stressed on the fact that in the present competitive era simple diploma is not enough and the people need to venture out into higher education.
President Obama also quipped that countries such as Germany tend to lay focus on graduating their high school students with the equivalent of a technical degree from one of our community colleges.”
Thus, President Obama was glad that IBM has laid stress to the same.
