Review Of Eviant T7 7-Inch Portable LCD TV
Gadgets — on August 28, 2009 at 6:15 pm | 2 CommentsSum ‘n’ Substance:
Thumbs up: It is compact and has a 7-inch wide-screen display; picture clarity is very good; powerful antenna; includes a remote controller; built-in rechargeable battery; kick stand is provided; it’s quite reasonable price-wise.
Thumbs down: The battery life is poor, around 2hrs; removable alkaline battery provision; resolution could have been better.

Inside the trunk: LCD TV; Diagonal size: 7 in Widescreen ; Resolution: 480 x 234; Sound Output Mode- Stereo; Image Aspect Ratio 16:9; video interface–composite; Technology TFT active matrix.
The Whiz-kid speaks: Enter a world where a new breed of portable TVs has entered the market. The new DTV’s are high on the portable entertainment factor and pack quite a punch at nominal rates. Whether it is catching your most exciting matches or news when the power is out or while traveling or just hanging out at a Woodstock-esque event, these portable players , although not made any of the big boys, provide some unadulterated picture quality. Here we have the Eviant T7 7-inch portable LCD TV.
Razzle- dazzle: The T7 has pretty decent looks. The LCD screen adorns the telly with elegance. There is a prominent button at its base corner that is used for navigational purposes and it comes in array of colours including black, white & red and all of them have a glossy finish. It is pretty slim too and has the feel of a PSP or an android phone (although slightly bigger than them) when held in your palms or you can simply prop up the stand and place it on a flat surface.

Inside dope:
Portable TV’s are similar to models that have DVD players attached to them, this one doesn’t. But do not fret; the T7 can pull in any TV signals being broadcast in your area. In addition to digital and HD stations, it will also pull in any legacy analog or low-power stations that may still be broadcasting in your area. Eviant also provides an AV cable that lets you use the TV as a display for other devices that output video. Additionally, there’s also an audio-out jack for plugging in a set of headphones.
The battery life is very poor, around 2hrs, which means, it can barely get through entire games. You may need to sit plugged or have a power source around you. If there is no power, then its simple, it won’t work. There is no provision for alkaline batteries which could have proved saviour.
One more drawback is, like all portable DVD players aren’t meant to be used while in motion, the T7 has the similar fate. A 12 volt AC adapter is included with the TV, as does a felt carrying pouch and small remote control that changes the channels and raises and lowers the volume. However, there is no car adaptor which would be very handy.
Nitty-gritty: For a $100- $150 price range the T7 has done pretty well. It would be a brilliant idea to use it in your kitchen or if you’re traveling you’ll have to arrange for some kind of power source. All in all if you get one, it will definitely be worth your money.

I would say, by present day standerds, image ratio, TFT & LCD are good features. But with 2 hrs & no DVD, I would only pick it up if it was emergency to have one.
Ricky, you have become one point reference foe me. It’s really something I can depend upon. Thanks!
