The Whiz Kid Speaks: The best feature of the HTC Pure is its Windows Mobile 6.5 and that too at a very reasonable price. Added to that you get a two-year contract assurance with a discount of $50 mail-in. HTC Pure is seen as a much better option in comparison to the earlier version Touch Pro2 and Touch Diamond 2. The Windows Mobile interface is loaded with interactive features which people can use conveniently. The earlier versions did not have this. This web browser is more powerful and has better navigational facilities. The Microsoft App Store and My Phone features are very useful add-ons to the file. But then again if you want a smart phone for freaking out on the multimedia features along with avidly surfing the net, the HTC pure is not quite right for you. You might as well remain loyal to the iPhone. But if you are looking for some good business utilities along with some fun, the HTC is the more preferable option. It is beats the LG Incite in its touch screen features.
Razzle Dazzle: The HTC Pure can be taken as a remodeled version of the earlier Diamond 2. Well, the results are not all that too good. You might not call it unattractive. It’s just normal. Over the Diamond 2 there’s a tad more flash. It’s got an ultraslim body and a brushed metal surface. Well, this is the kind of phone that you get to see everywhere with a plastic finish. A no-fuss design that will enable you to comfortably hold it in your hands or slip into your trouser pockets.
The display is not much different from the Diamond 2 and you can be thankful to AT & T because of that. With a resistive touch screen with 400 X 800 resolution and WVGA, the HTC Pure yields clear and bright pictures. So you can really give thumbs up to display though we would have preferred a capacitive screen taking into consideration the precision and pressure factors. The built-in accelerometer changes the view on the display from a vertical to a horizontal one along with the orientation of your phone automatically. No need for you to bother about that. On the flip side, this works only for certain web applications like e-mail, pictures and videos.
The portrait and landscape keyboards are easy to handle and you’re going to type well with minimum error once you get the hang of it. These keyboards are great to look at too. The vibration on the function buttons lets you know that your command has been registered by the computer when you press the key. This virtual keyboard is good for casual mailing but for an email addict this is not the best thing. You need a gadget with a physical keyboard.

There’s no 3.5 mm headphone jack and this is a big disadvantage that you can think of for the HTC Pure.
The Pure uses TouchFlo 3d interface. You can use this, or you can also try using Mobile 6.5 Today screen alternately. It’s as simple as hiding a menu item and activating another. You can customize the utilities that you’d want to have with the home screen. You could choose between different background themes from Diane von Furstenberg , Vera Wang and Rock and Republic amongst others.
Inside Dope:
Apart from Windows Mobile 6.5, the phone comes with the basic Microsoft office for working with office, excel and PowerPoint. The Direct Push feature allows for coordination of your mailing and outlook calendar with the Exchange Server for POP 3 and IMAP accounts. Quad band worldwide roaming facilities, along with smart dialing and multimedia communication are enabled. More personalized contact profile maintenance is enabled. A search facility allows for better information retrieval on your phone.
Bluetooth 2 comes with a lot of wireless connectivity features and the 3-G capability allows you to get Wi-Fi information even if you are out of a coverage area. Voice guided navigation, music and video are other features that you can think of. Sophisticated personal information management tools are available with the phone.
The camera is a high quality 5 megapixel one with a lot of setting options with which you can click images of good quality. The camcorder also clicks good pictures. The sharpness and coloring are all good. The sharpness of images remained in bright sunlight and the video quality was good, though the presence of a flash is recommended for dim light shooting. On the whole the video quality was alright, but the pictures could get a bit blurred.
Nitty Gritty: A touch screen phone at affordable price which is good for both entertainment and business purposes. The Windows Mobile 6.5 system is its highlighting feature. For an affordable price this is a good bet.
