Thumbs up:Amazing speakers, stunning looks, easy on the pocket, expandable memory.
Thumbs down:The keypad is small and flat, the battery life is awful, no 3.5 standard headphone support or USB dongle, also the service provide support is rather poor, functional problems; you can run only about 50 playlists at a time also there is no support for running music in the background.
Inside the trunk:Band / mode: GSM 850/900/1800/1900 (Quadband) ; Talk time: Up to 330 min ; Combined with: With digital camera / digital player ; Lithium ion battery.
THE WHIZ-KID SPEAKS:“Ahaaa… now that looks luscious” that was my first reaction when I was given this phone to fiddle around with for a few days. But like they say… all good things come to an end somewhere, that’s exactly what happened in this case too.
Razzle-dazzle:Killer looks… that’s what this mobilephone stands for. It’s a huge relief from the drab blacks that I come across every second day. Available in two colours : berry mauve and metallic pumpkin, its sure to set everyone wagging their tongues for more.
Overall its got a candy bar kind of a design which slides open from the side to give way to the QWERTY keyboard. It is comparatively thinner and smaller than most of its competitors. The display is amazingly vibrant and colourful with QVGA 240×320-pixel resolution and a support for 262,000 colors. The animated images can be viewed brilliantly.
This one from Samsung has a mix of big circular buttons along with some tiny ones. Though I was pretty much comfortable with the big ones I found the small ones a bit difficult to use. The camera lens and the external speakers are comfortably placed behind though the micro SD slot is awkwardly placed behind the battery, which means that every time you need to take the micro SD card out you ll have to fiddle around with the battery and the sim card.
Inside dope:
Testing it on one of the most important feature i.e. the voice quality during the calls.. and hallelujah, I was impressed.. clear sound, no static… what else could I ask for?? On the callers end too, he was pretty much content with the voice quality though there a low hum in the background with a heavy echo effect.
The 3G speeds were splendid enough.I managed to load an entire HTML page like in like lesss than 15 secs. Now if that’s not speed what is??

But all the good things have to come to an end always… I wasnt that satisfied with the video streaming quality. It was sort of choppy and grainy. Also the audio quality from the speakers was just about alright. Nothing really amazing to talk about. Also the overall quality of the music was kind of harsh. I would recommend trying it out with a pair of headphones or earphones for better results.
The battery, is the major drawback of this model. For people like me who are texting almost throughout the day, the battery life could be a major problem. Just a two-three page message was more than enough to get the battery down by two bars. Also one of the things that I noticed was that the full QWERTY still illuminates even if the phone is closed. I mean there is no point in the QWERTY being illuminated when it is of no use. Probably if this was sorted out the battery life could have been longer.
There were also a few other functional problems which I noticed like the double typing letters with one keystroke, space bar unresponsive, numerical pad very unresponsive, screen freezes after slide and displays both the portrait and land scape display at the same time, random shut down. It doesn’t happen too often but occasionally all these problems come into picture. Also the casing is a bit scratchy, so it needs to be handled a bit more cautiously.
Nitty-gritty:Well if your looking for a basic phone with a few added features (which might not function properly at times.. that’s just why I call it a basic phone) and stunning looks you could go for this one.. I would also recommend this phone to first time QWERTY users. If only Samsung had not dabbled with so many features and just tried to improve the already present features this phone would have come out as a clear winner.

Speakers, looks, multiple band options, SD card…all is just just the way I love it. But can you live with that camera & battery is your choice. Definitely, not for me.
keyboard issue is a problem, mine was the “e” key. I’ve had better battery life experience. Both Gravity2 phones were replaced because of software crash or faulty cable between two sections. Tech support not too helpful. T-Mobile says it’s not a known issue but there are plenty of posts to the contrary. Hard reset did nothing to correct haywire screen issues. Until this issue, it’s been a good. phone. Samsung seems to produce a lot of phones that skip durability and quality values for consumers. My kids and I have owned six different Samsungs. Mostly disappointed by sliders.
