THE WHIZ- KID SPEAKS:
Ahaa…I would have loved to have most of the flashy cars which are on display in the game. The game didn’t disappoint much atleast as far as the racing part goes. It looks like a boulevard of cars which everyone at some point of time would have wanted to own.
Basically this game is all about racing through animated and lively environments and performing several acrobatic stunts on the run which help you reach towards victory. The action involves a lot of fun and drama and obviously speeds high enough to send an adrenaline rush through the players veins but yeah it does have some limits. It just has around 12-single player events. Completing these events hardly takes any time, but if your striving for the gold medals then it’s surely going to be a long task uphill.
Unfortunately it is unpleasantly difficult to race through the speed limits because of a few obstructions which just reduced my interest in the game. At the $14.99 price range that it is being offered for I just expected it to have some more speedy fun and action.
The presentation is almost killer. The graphics are stunning to say the least. The race is set up on a meditteranean island , though it displays a lot of diversity I personally was waiting for some new landscapes to crop up just to see the magic that the graphics created on them as well. As I said earlier there are 12 races no doubt but then most of the races are almost similar with hardly any variety.
There is a spattering of several things on your way like railings, poles, crates, people, trucks, cones, and other obstacles. Most of the times you bump into these obstacles because of which you will have to stop in your tracks but at times it also acts as a boost meter. Deciding which items to pick up and which ones to not also involves a lot of time. Also any kind of collision can affect your trajectory and higher the speed more are the chances of derailment. Also I kind of failed to understand the physics behind this game because at times after a collision my car would be send into some different or weird direction altogether. And once when I just trying to take a turn, I was just locked in a drift and sent flying high in the air and I almost failed to understand why that happened. Though it is the only incident I could probably put down but be sure to face many such situations where you will have no clue as too why did u land up in a certain place.

If you thought that possibly only the limited track variety was the only glitch, I am sorry to say that the multiplayer options have nothing exiting to offer. There is no local multiplayer option. So probably if your planning to get your friends at home over some popcorn and coffee for a short game then you would surely be in for a huge blooper. If your online then you could probably compete with five other players. Though the connections are lag-free, the online population is quite less. So I assume online gameplay wouldn’t be that exciting as well. I just wish that smash cars had real nice multiplayer options. It would have been absolutely kickass with loads of players around.
Nitty- gritty: Well I wouldn’t say that it’s got the best graphics but yeah, for sure the game does run very smoothly indeed. The sound is also a bit blaring at times especially when crashing around with the cars. Plus it could be fun at the basic level but with the limited multiplayer options it just turns out to be drab in sometime. The overall content and the limited online options seriously hurt the game a lot. Well if you are just looking out for entertainment for a few hours and possibly don’t mind spending around $15 for it then go ahead give it a shot.
