Samsung : Move Aside Point-To-Shoot Cameras
General News — By Ricky on September 30, 2009 at 1:05 amLooks like Samsung just cant get enough of the 12Mp cameraphone (who can??). Anyways, following the launch of the Pixon12, Samsung has announced the launch of the SCH-W880, the newest 12 MP cameraphone to hit the shelf. It’s got an optical zoom of about 3X and is being made ready for an early October release in Korea.
It also comes loaded with an AMOLED full touch screen, 2x digital zoom , Dual-Xenon flash ,Touch/auto focus , Image stabilization and Face detection. It also enables fast image saving so that the users can immediately move on to the next shot within a short span of 2 secs. It also offers high quality video recording at 1280 x 720 pixels with 30 frames per sec. To match upto the heavily loaded camera we even have a 1100mAh battery which makes in all probability could make this one a bit clunky.

At the moment this as much a phone as a camera and it isn’t a smartphone either. This one is going to be launched in only Korea at the moment. No announcement has been made as yet about the U.K release date. The Pixon12 came in at $500, so keeping that in mind we are sure that this one would also be no cheaper if not more than the Pixon12.
