Many of the notebooks this size do not have the luxury of the 3 USB ports the Samsung model is equipped with, instead there are other notebooks with only 2 USB ports. The other feature that gives this notebook multi tasking speed is the Intel Atom processor. This is also what gives the user the speed when surfing the Internet, word processing and for reading email. The weight makes it the perfect notebook to travel with or to use at home. The large sized 160 GB hard drive that is equal to many larger sized laptops has the room for storing pictures and video media with room to spare, along with saving documents. The Intel Atom 1.6 GHz when tested against other comparable notebooks in multi tasking test out preformed the other notebooks making it a good choice in a 10.3 inch screen notebook. One of the features that have been replaced on this Samsung model is the matte screen finish. The notebook has the glossy LCD finish that helps to project clear bright pictures on the small sized screen, with brightness and more vibrant colors. The screen is a 10.3 LCD display with a native resolution of 1,024 x 600, the standard resolution for notebooks.
One of the things that need to be remembered with notebooks of this size is having to many browser windows open at the same time can lead to a slowdown or stuttering and is not unique too the Samsung N110, but to many of these type of models. This is not a problem if running applications are kept to a minimum while multi tasking. Video, photos and other media show well on the Samsung model. What is unique is the keypad that has slightly larger keys than are found on many notebooks that are compact, along with a large right Shift key. There is also a specialized scroll zone to make it easy for the person that is using this compact model to make it easier to do a lot of scrolling. Unlike the smaller flat key designs of some of the top name notebooks that have gone with the flat design that can make typing for extended amounts of time difficult.
The best thing many notebook users will find a terrific feature is the six cell battery that has as many as six hours of playback on a charge before draining the battery makes it a very usable notebook either at home or when traveling. Compared with other notebooks this model laptop has one of the longest lasting batteries at 6 hours and 8 minutes, only being beat by a few lasting less than 10 minutes longer.
The Samsung N110 warranty offers the computer industry standard one year parts and labor warranty. They also offer the Samsung technical telephone line support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week free during the year standard warranty. The Samsung website offers live chat with a technical support agent, there are trouble shooting pages on the site and an online knowledge base.
