Google Acquires IBM Patents

Search engine major Google Inc. in a statement on Friday told that they have acquired certain technology patents from IBM (International Business Machines) Corporation. The purchase of the technology patents by Google is their attempt to defend themselves against lawsuits. A Google spokesman in a statement told that, "Just as a lot of other tech companies, at times we also likes to acquire patents which are applicable to our business." The acquiring was firstly reported by the blog SEO by the Sea, which reported that Google has acquired in excess of 1000 patents from the U.S. Trademark and Patent Office. It’s been only a week of Search Engine giant Google’s social networking service Google+ in the market, and already the buzz regarding the service is soaring. The insane response that the service got when it was launched in the market made a lot of tech buffs like us take their time from everything else and have a look at the service, and hence we created our Google+ profile and started exploring the service, which although is in its Beta stage, but looks rather promising. So, here is our experience of Google+ so far. First a caveat: The Google+ service still is in its early days or as we know Beta version, and hence our current experience could vary drastically with the ultimate experience that we all might have when the service is launched with all its features. Google have bettered their search engine features by adding certain modern features to its main search engine, and has made image search easier and also to browse through the image-related results. The images that now will be shown in the main search results will increase in size as soon as you put your cursor on them, and consequently will make it easy for you to pick the images that you want. Google Goof-Ups Capacity Calculation, Results In Gmail Outage For 2 Hours

Google have concluded that the two hour Gmail shut down on Tuesday was the result of a miscalculation regarding the capacity of its system. Millions of Gmail users checking in for entertainment news to business updates were left stranded. The problem was caused by a classic cascade in which servers were jammed with traffic in rapid succession. Google say that, the problem began when it took several Gmail servers offline for maintenance, a routine procedure that normally is transparent to users. However, the twist this time around was that Google had made certain modifications to the routers that direct Gmail traffic to servers with the intentions of improving reliability.
