Immediately after the announcement that Orange would be offering the iPhone in the U.K, comes in news that even Vodafone would be offering the iPhone in the U.K and Ireland. However Vodafone would be offering the iPhone somewhere in the first quarter of 2010 which will be months after it will be offered by Orange. According to Japanese research company BCN, the walkman has outsold the dominating iPod for the first time in four years. Sony tasted victory pure through the sales volume and number of music players. Sony recorded sales figures of 43 percent towards the end of August 30, beating apple by a whisker, who recorded 42.1 percent. The survey did not include the sales of the iPhone because of the obvious reasons of it serving as a cell-phone. Sony grabbed six of the top 10 sales spots with the different models of its Walkman. While, Apple took home the remaining three slots with its 16GB iPod Nano, iPod Classic, and iPod Shuffle.
