The whiz kid speaks: Creative has launched the Zen Mx a follow up to the much acclaimed Zen and supposedly, an answer to Apples revamped Nano. But there a few glaring faults in the MX, that threaten it from becoming a successful MP3. Let’s find out. Starting with the design, Creative have barely deviated with the design on the MX , making it a carbon copy of the older Zen.  It still sports the excellent, glossy black, 2.5 inch, TFT LCD screen with a very good resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. Much of the navigational buttons remain unchanged. The only difference so far, is that, the hold key has been replaced  [...]

Apple has the stormed the markets once again, with the launch of the new Nano and the 3rd generation ipod touch. Leaving the Nano aside, the all new ipod touch is much more refined that its predecessors, it carries an increased storage capacity, better graphic capabilities and a much faster processor too. The design of the 64 Gb is sleek and thin and the back looks like it’s coated with molten silver bearing Apple’s iconic logo. The black and beautiful touchscreen adorns the front end. The DS300s features two banks of user setting menus one is the shooting settings and the other is the custom settings with four nameable slots each. This ultra-flexible user setting is not easily accessible and over time, can really get on your nerves. Something like the mode-dial which is present on the canon would have been perfect. One of the quickest ways to access the customs settings is through the information display which still requires no less than four presses. The multi-selector was sloppy and inaccurate. One of it outstanding features though, has to be the dual storage media standards; compact flash (CF) and storage digital (SD). The user can choose which cards stores the images and which one stores the movie clips. The DS300s carries most of the features the D300 has like the Scene Recognition System with 1005 pixel RGB colour metering,  [...]

The 3rd generation ipod fits a massive 160GB hard disk. The screen is molded out of plastic, making it the only iPod that hasn't used the scratch-resistant glass screen yet. It also is the only one to use the split screen menu, with  the menu function on the left and an image matching to the selection to the right. Like the previous ipods, the Classic also features the Genius playlist where it creates an instant 25-song playlists based on the musical characteristics of a single song. The results are fun, for most of the time, provided that you have a large playlist (which you should be having, if you’re buying a  160GB ipod). The iPod Classic supports H.264 or MPEG-4 video in MOV, MP4, or M4V file formats, with a maximum resolution of 640x480 at as much as 30  [...]
