Every birthday, anniversary, vacation or holiday is a unique milestone in our life that needs to be cherished forever. To make sure that you capture every beautiful frame of your life in an even more beautiful manner, Sony has introduced the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H20.
This 10 megapixel point-and-shoot digital camera is extremely easy to use and carry. Complete with an expandable lens that lets you click crystal clear pictures with incredible precision. This camera is best for people who like to take mesmerizing close-up shots and sharp wide-shots.

Camera Features
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H20 is a little heavier than some other digital cameras in the market. It weighs 9.9 ounces with batteries. With dimensions like 4.3×2.8×1.9 inches and a 3 inch LCD screen it is much not one of those cameras that look like a match box. It also has an amazing lens that can zoom up to 10 times the actual scenes. The focal length is 38 to 380 mm and aperture is f3.5-4.4. It allows both automatic and manual image stabilization.
The camera takes pictures in JPEG and Motion JPEG Format and can capture both still and video footage. You can record videos at 720p HD-quality. The camera also has a smile-capture feature and it automatically clicks pictures when the subject is smiling. It also has strong Li-ion batteries that are good to capture 290 pictures in one charge.
Design
Well, if you are looking for one of those ultra-slim cameras which can fit in your back pocket, then Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H20 is not for you. It has a more rugged design and only comes in Black color. But still, the design is very good as it is more comfortable to hold and shoot. You can easily reach the Mode dial on top of the camera to click pictures without shaking the camera. The main interface is not crowded with icons, which makes it easier to use. The power button and zoom ring lie on top of the camera.
Shooting Specifications
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H20 has only one button to access the shooting options as opposed to the two ‘Home’ and ‘Menu’ present in all the previous Sony models. The camera also prompts you to adjust settings which will enhance the picture. It has the option of Auto, 80, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600 and 3200 of ISO sensitivity and can adjust the White balance to Auto, Cloudy, Incandescent, Fluorescent 1, 2, and 3, Daylight, Flash and Manual.
There are six recording modes – Easy, Scene Selection, Intelligent Auto, Manual, Movie and Program – and four color effect i.e., Normal, Sepia, Black & White and Vivid. You can also take up to 100 still shots in one go, with the Burst Shot features.

You will Love!
There is a lot to love in the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H20 camera:
- First of all, its design makes it one of the steadiest cameras in the market today. The chunky design makes it easier to point and shoot. You won’t have to reshoot any pictures due to blur caused by shaky hands.
- The performance of its megazoom lens is pretty good. Most other such lenses take a lot of time to get ready, but the megazoom feature of this camera starts within 1.5 seconds. The lens is also very quick to click pictures.
- The quality of pictures taken is also excellent. The pictures are especially good at prints below 8×10 inches. The colors are may not be perfect, but are natural and pleasing.
You Will Hate!
There is not a lot to hate in Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H20 except some design and picture quality flaws:
- This camera doesn’t have mechanical cover for its lens. There’s a physical cap to protect the lens, but it does get cumbersome at times. If you forget to take the cap off before starting the camera, then it gets stuck and you will have to turn it off, remove the cap and then turn it back ON to take pictures.
- Even though most current digital cameras have a wide-angle lens, this camera has a particularly narrow lens at a 35mm. This makes it very difficult to take pictures of huge groups.
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H20 is a complete camera that’s well-designed, easy to use, and has some great features. Priced between $243.95 and $289.99, this camera will surely attract those of you who like taking beautiful pictures and capture memorable moments, both indoors and outdoors.
