Thumbs Up:
Good battery life, small compact size.
Thumbs Down:
You will get a bigger and more comfortable laptop if you pay a bit more, keyboard and trackpad is a bit uncomfortable to use, there is no optical drive.
Inside the Trunk:
Power cables and software discs.

Razzle Dazzle:
This tiny sexy baby is really attractive but has glossy lid with chrome lining on the edges. The glossy lid will be a finger print magnet so keep a cleaning cloth around if you want the exteriors to remain spotless. It is really portable owing to the small size and the looks are certainly attractive but not so much that it will make heads turn.
Inside Dope:
What ever confusion you had about what makes a notebook different from netbook will be further worsened when you have a look at the Toshiba Satellite T115-S1105. This computer looks a lot like netbook and some will even call it so but it is really a notebook with the notebook range hardware built in.

The size of the Toshiba Satellite T115-S1105 is tiny 11 inch which is not the best when it comes to watching videos. This notebook doesn’t have an optical drive but then we don’t understand why the HDMI is incorporated on the sides. The slow processor won’t be able to handle full HD content in all its glory anyways. You will have to get videos to the computer through the USB drive and then plug the device to a TV to watch content on a bigger screen.
This laptop is more centered towards mobility rather than multi media. Lack of optical drive and smaller screen size makes the point clear and this note book is for people who want a notebook with a little faster hardware.
The Toshiba Satellite T115-S1105 has modest 1.3 GHz Intel Pentium SU2700 processor which is really slow but then it will give you better battery life. A faster processor means faster consumption of battery and hence mobile users are happy to sacrifice faster speeds for better battery life. Processor is slow but faster when compared to standard netbook processors.
The keyboard is a bit different than what we usually see in notebooks, it is smaller since this notebook is smaller than your average sized notebook. But typing on this keyboard was not easy and we had mishits as the tiny keys showed their drawbacks when we used it in the long run. The trackpad was OK, the buttons there was no click when we pressed the buttons and sometimes we had to push harder.
The display of the Toshiba Satellite T115-S1105 is 11.6 inch big but this notebook is similar to 12 inch laptops. You get the same 1366X768 resolution. Browsing the web, watching videos and working with on the screen felt a bit cramped with the small screen but this is ubiquitous in this size of laptops. Picture quality was good but nothing out of the box. The display is good for casual video watching but even 480p videos brought the computer to its heels.
Speakers were a bit of letdown on the Toshiba Satellite T115-S1105, their position makes it difficult to hear them and it was a bit low even when you push it to the limit. Make sure you get a good set of headphones if you are a music enthusiast and are buying this laptop.
On the sides of the Toshiba Satellite T115-S1105 there is HDMI out and three ports for USB but there is no Bluetooth. On the hardware front, the notebook has aforementioned slow Pentium class processor, 2 GB of DDR3 RAM, 250 GB hard drive which makes this notebook different from a netbook.
With slow processor and absence of optical drive we would expect greater battery life. Well, we were not disappointed to see six hours juice in the battery life. If you play taxing video on the notebook, it will last about five and half hours.
Nitty Gritty:
Toshiba Satellite T115-S1105 is just like a netbook but a bit faster. If you want a netbook that is fast with the size limit go get this but if you are looking for a notebook we would recommend you to pay a few bucks more and get a full size laptop because the display is too poor for video watching and it doesn’t have an optical drive either.
