Sum ‘n’ Substance: Roland has launched the all new portable amplifier where you can carry around with you and turn the whole world deaf. Powered by eight AA batteries, the BA-330 can deliver up to 10 hours of continuous power; probably not at full blast (plug-in AC power is also available). At full power however, the BA-330 can hit an ear-drum shattering of 108db.

The 330 features four 6.5″ stereo speakers and two tweeters, positioned for wide stereo projection. Adding to the list is the in built EQ, reverb, delay, and wide (on/off per channel) Four-channel configuration: two channels for mic/instruments plus two channels for stereo inputs. So a wide range of instruments, microphones, and devices can be plugged into the BA-330 simultaneously.

I think everyone has attended an event where there was an unwanted irritating buzz that always played party-pooper and you’d stick your fingers in you ears, for that, Roland has added an advanced Anti-feedback function which automatically detects the howling point and eliminates feedback. The Powerful high-quality stereo sound is capable of handling audiences of up to 80 people and no setup whatsoever required, just plug in and go! . And if you’re falling short on the deafness front, a stereo link feature allows you to wire two BA-330 speakers together.

But then as all good things come to an end, the BA-330 is priced at a whopping $829, leaving most of the street musicians out in the cold. Roland plans to hit the shelves with the BA-330 in November. So stop reading, go break all your piggy-banks.
