Verizon Planning To Take Over DirecTV?
News — on September 29, 2009 at 5:10 am | Comment NowThe latest buzz doing the rounds lately is that Verizon is planning to take over DirecTV to increase its marketshare. As it is after the CEO of DirecTv stepped down there was some talk about someone planning to take up the DirecTV. If this does happen then Verizon would be second only to DirecTV.
All the talk started when the CEO of Verizon slightly hinted that for the fixed line business he would like to make video, a core company product. And like all of us know the best way to do this is to scrape up a satellite company and for all we know, the company could be DirecTV.

However neither has DirecTV and nor has Verizon confirmed any of this. Though at the moment Verizon is sticking to its fiber optic service expansion(FiOS) which will surely take some more time because the fiber has to be run to every home. And keeping that in mind, there could be no other way to reach the top than buying DirecTV or the Dish network.
